Elwood-John H. Glenn High School seniors Sasha Amico and Erin Kenny were recently named winners of the Western Suffolk Counselors’ Association Scholarship Award. This marked the first time any Elwood student had won this award.
The WSCA Scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated volunteerism that involves caring, sharing and commitment and can make a difference in the community. The scholarship committee seeks students who found a need in their school or community and took the initiative to plan and execute their vision.
“Both students are extremely involved in the school and local community, with impressive community service involvement,” school counselors Carolyn Goudreau said.
