Elwood Middle School “rocked” Spirit Week with its first ever Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament on Oct. 18, a schoolwide event that allowed all staff and students to join in the fun. Staff played throughout the day to collect the most beads, while students competed during their lunch periods in the cafeteria. The competition, organized by student leadership advisers Jill Locascio and Scott Mikelbank, culminated in an assembly in the EMS auditorium for the top winners to face off. The final victor was special education teacher Megan DeSimone, with sixth grader Emma Rincon as runner up.

“The auditorium was filled with laughter, chants and celebrations,” Locascio said. “It was a great way to end Spirit Week.”
