Eleven exceptional Elwood-John H. Glenn High School senior athletes recently signed national letters of intent to continue their sports careers at the NCAA college level. Athletic Director Dave Shanahan hosted a College Signing Day ceremony on May 14 in the school’s gymnasium, with the students’ proud families in attendance.

Jule Aldasoro will attend St. John’s University for dance, Alicia Ancewicz will attend Utica University for volleyball, Gabrielle Collins will attend SUNY Cortland for track, Shay Daly will attend Marist College for soccer, Gabby Geddes will attend SUNY Oswego for lacrosse, Aidan Hanratty will attend Adelphi University for track, Dahlia Jhaveri will attend Cornell University for gymnastics, Jasai McKay will attend SUNY Morrisville for football, Mikayla Piersa will attend Hartwick College for soccer, Michael Sainte-Croix will attend Hartwick College for football and Danielle Zabransky will attend Long Island University for cheer.

“You’re sitting here at this table for many reasons: your work ethic, your drive to succeed and long hours of practice,” Shanahan told the seniors. “But to be a success as a student-athlete, you need a support system. I’m sure as you reflect back on your career and childhood, your parents or a role model in your life took the time to listen to you, care about you, guide you for the ups and downs of athletics, teach life lessons, and provide you with the most important thing in love. In the next phase of your life in college, use the same tools that have helped you to be successful here at John Glenn. Don’t be afraid to reach out to your parents, coaches and teachers here for advice.”
