John Glenn Athletic Events Now Livestreaming!

Livestreaming HUDL thumbnail253840

In order to enhance partnerships within the Elwood community, the Elwood School District Athletic Department and Technology Department have worked collaboratively to provide a pilot program for John H. Glenn High School winter indoor athletic events for the 2023-2024 school year.

Currently, the district uses the HUDL platform for many purposes, including sharing game film with college coaches, creating highlight films for our student-athletes, utilizing Hudl as a helpful tool for coaches to improve student-athlete performance and analyzing athletic events, such as game day breakdowns.

We are thrilled to announce that the HUDL sports platform has developed a livestream component, which enables districts to record and livestream high school games and contests. Due to the location of our HUDL camera in the John Glenn gym, we are now livestreaming all home varsity boys and girls basketball games and varsity wrestling matches.

Many benefits come from livestreaming our athletic events, such as:
Increased Accessibility: Friends, family and alumni who cannot physically attend the games are
still able to participate and support the teams. This enhances community engagement and
school spirit.
Wider Audience Reach: Broadcasting provides reach to a broader audience, potentially
attracting scouts, sponsors, and college recruiters.
Enhanced Communication: Livestreaming sporting events keeps the community informed
about upcoming sporting events, scores, highlights, and team performance.
