Harley Avenue Primary

Principal's Message

Dear Harley Families,

Welcome back! I hope that your summer is going well and that you are as excited as I am for the beginning of our new school year.

As I enter my fourth year as the Principal of Harley Avenue, I am excited to continue on the journey of learning with all of you. I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the highly qualified and dedicated staff: the wonderful students, and supportive parents.

The primary years are a critical time of development for students and families, and I look forward to working with all of you to make this year a success. Research shows that parental involvement in a child's education benefits the child. These benefits are higher levels of academic achievement, positive attitudes, and greater maturity and responsibility. Since the benefits are so solid, I urge you to take part as much as possible in the life of our school. It does take an entire village to raise a child.

Our staff is committed to working with students and their families as a team. Although we will follow State and district initiatives/mandates necessary for continued educational success and student well being, we are also committed to teaching the whole child. In order to help each child achieve their full potential, the school will provide both enrichment and intervention supports for students. Please remember to always contact your child's teacher first with any concerns. I am also available to meet with you in person, to talk to you over the telephone, or to exchange emails.

I look forward to another successful year. Thank you for sharing and entrusting us with your children each day and helping us to grow a community of learners, thinkers, sharers and productive citizens!

Sincerely,

Elissa Millan
