A Message from the Superintendent:

December 2012

Dear Community Members,

The busy holiday season is upon us! If you step inside any of our four schools, you will see that our classrooms are bustling with activity. Students throughout the district are working diligently to reach their full potential as scholars and athletes.  It is no surprise to me that Elwood students earn such notable recognitions as AP Scholar, National Merit Scholarship Commended Student, All-State musician and State Champion.

Our students also work to be better members of society, helping others in need through food and clothing drives and various fundraising activities. I am grateful to be a part of a community that places such a strong emphasis on the importance of helping others. This is an Elwood priority year round, not only during the holiday season.

In closing, I look forward to working together into the new year. I would like to extend my wishes to the community for a happy and safe holiday season. We have much to be thankful for in the Elwood School District – dedicated parents, a supportive community, a hardworking staff, and talented and enthusiastic students.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Peter C. Scordo
Superintendent of Schools
